This was our first visit to this gorgeous coastal town situated about 2hrs north of Geraldton and we can genuinely say that it‘s left us a little spellbound.

From beautiful beaches and towering seaside cliffs through to the stunning landscapes of the Kalbarri National Park, it‘s the perfect destination for nature lovers.

Whilst in town, we couldn’t go past a visit to one of WA’s most iconic natural attractions, Nature’s Window. The naturally formed ‘window’ perfectly frames the river below and presents a great photo opportunity 📸

We got up for sunrise and had it all to ourselves but we’ve heard that during busy periods visitors may need to queue for a photograph at the famous landmark!

We also took some time out to throw a line in the mighty Murchison River. We came away with a couple of little rock cod, a decent sized bream and a blue swimmer crab that hilariously had the kids scrambling onto the seats with feet in the air after it got loose in the boat.

The whole family also enjoyed the pelican feeding on the foreshore. Shows are at 8:45am daily. The commentary was a hoot and both the kids were excited to throw a fish for the pelicans to eat.

Kalbarri is totally worth the trek north, don’t let the distance stop you from visiting.
